I Paint What I Find Intriguing

Shapes, color, inspiration, I paint what I find intriguing. My friend by surprise had found poppies growing in her garden. They were tall, their fuzzy stems held high the indescribable color of pink or red highbred colored flowers. Once the flowers have dropped to the ground, the stems held high their true heads.

In the most soft bluish teal the poppy seed head is shaped quite like a pumpkin. Underneath they were light colored collars. On their gourd shaped heads they wear a crown tipped in yellow. The center of the crowns are brown flecked with black tiny seeds. The true reservoir of seeds are in the head.

I was inspired by the colors and shape of the 7 poppy seed pods in the garden. This fall I plan to take a few of those seed pods and sprinkle the many seeds in my own garden. I look forward to more inspiration from flowers yet blooming.
